Hangar Talk – Gerry Goes Full Scale!!

Some of us may have been wondering what ex President Gerry de Groot has been up to given we haven’t seen him at the field for a little while. Well Gerry hasn’t given up on flying, rather he has spent quite bit of time flying a FULL SCALE aircraft. Some of us have been aware of Gerry’s pursuit of full size flying and I’m pleased to report that Gerry has recently soloed (July in fact). Congratulations and well done Gerry!

Below is a picture of Gerry at George Town airport alongside the  Jabiru LSA 55/2J in which he soloed.

The specs for the Jabiru are –

Wingspan 8m approx?
Engine Avtech 1600
Prop 54″ x 38″
Seating 2
Maximum Take Off Weight 430kg
Fuel Capacity 50L
