20th December, 2013
Hi Everyone,
This will be a rather short report as I haven’t been able to take advantage of the lovely weekend flying weather lately because of many other commitments and thus don’t have many details of “who flew and what they flew”. However, I am reliably informed that one Saturday’s flying conditions were so good that it was well after three o’clock before many left the field.
What a wonderful Christmas lunch we had again this year with great burgers, sausages, a wonderful array of salads, cakes, sweets (including plum pudding, ice cream, custard, cheese cakes etc, etc). Most of this mouth-watering food was donated and special thanks to all those who contributed. I’m not going to mention names, as I’m sure I shall miss someone. I would like to thank all ladies and men who helped in the organizing of this function and to let them know how appreciative we are of their fine contributions. “Bless them all.” (Note, a perfect flying day too.)
How great does the site look now with an excellent strip, safety areas for the pilots to stand when flying, new starting blocks and safety pit lane for models to taxi out, a lovely fence around the buildings, and greenery everywhere (maybe too much green in the amazing crop of knee-high wheat into which quite a few models have disappeared and then have been recovered after search parties were sent out)!
Thank you to all who have supported the Club this year in many different ways. It hasn’t been without its problems but I’ll be making a statement on recent developments in the very near future.
In the meantime, on behalf of the Committee and me, I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year with a lot more flying in 2014.
“til next time,
Safe Flying,
FRED WILLIS
President LMAC
