Hi Everyone-
Another 2 months have slipped away since I last wrote the Committee report, quite a bit has happened since then but whilst there has been much happening in fact there is not a lot to report on from committee that most of you who have visited the field are aware of, but for the info of those who have not had the chance to get down for a while here are some points: –
We have now got a greening strip to fly from albeit surrounded by a MASSIVE ploughed paddock (don’t come down in the rough) of course that does have an advantage of making us better pilots does it not.
But it is a challenge and life is full of challenges for all of us to rise above.
Then of course they now have the big irrigators operational (That adds to the greening of the strip) but it did come a bit close to the clubhouse and the horizontal spray heads did place more water at the front of our clubhouse than it was to be expected when we built it, so consequently we had a bit of water damage inside.
But that now has been rectified and the owner and manager are restricting the use of the irrigator at weekends.
Now there is an important notice attached to this report from Committee that spells out in clear detail for the members benefit. (Please read and do what is asked). (This was placed on the website in mid April and can be found here Ed)
There are other matters to which you are advised, From the MAAA comes the response to the RC&M Magazine from the MAAA’s and CASA’s perspective relating to the issue of public flying displays that you are aware of from last report the document is 3 pages long which you have already received by email.
Also received from the MAAA are 2 Mop’s, one (MOP 014) dealing with the General rules and guidelines for the operation of model aircraft, this is 10 pages long and for those not on e-mail I can post you a copy if you would care to have one. The rest of the members can find it attached to this report.
The same goes for another MOP, (MOP 067) dealing with Self guided model aircraft and is 7 pages long. These are a bit too big to send with this report in the mail but “OH” so fine on E-MAIL. (Please click on the highlighted MOP to go to the MAAA web page. Ed)
The committee welcomes a new associate member, Danny Nelson who is a Gold wing flyer please make him feel welcome as you meet him on the field.
Also we say congratulations to Jason George who has recently attained his Bronze wing rating well done Jason and to Doug Colbeck for his Gold Wings.
We are fast approaching the end of another membership year and that is the end of June and we all need to be thinking of renewing our subscriptions, but before we can let you know what they will be, we first have to have the State AGM where the MAAA&TMAA portion of our subs are set, then this is followed by our own AGM on the 7th of June at the kings meadows health centre in McHugh street, first turn left up behind McDonalds at Kings meadows 7.30PM.
We will be sending all members a form with the new subscription rate following the AGM.
I have said it many times in the past but it is most important and helpful for us to get the subs in promptly, the more that can be sent away in the first instance to get you all registered is important
Probably this AGM is more important than any of our other ones that have gone before to attend seeing we will be moving lock stock and the proverbial barrel to our new site this year. And if any of the membership has any queries as to what will be happening then that is the place to find out what is going on. And have your say it is no good complaining that you did not know when you are given the chance to be there.
Well I think that about wraps it all up for now, DO come to the AGM, Do read the attachments (Click on the links in the text Ed.).
So as always
Happy flying and safe landings from your committee
