Hi Everyone-
Well here we are in February in another new year all ready I hope all had a great holiday season and are refreshed to get into another year.
I do not have much to report on as such from our 1st committee meeting of the year, But I dare say that will change as time rolls on during this year.
Possibly the most notable thing you all want to know about is what is happening at the field.
Well our liaison person George C has been speaking with the Land owner Stephen Creese re what is happening, as far as we are concerned and was told the there were many things happening with regard to the plans that he has for the property at Symmons plains and it is taking a bit longer than expected to get some of these things under way.
He said that we are just to continue as we are doing for now and that it could be a bit later when we will be required to move.
Mean while the committee has been looking at ways that we may do in relation to the clubhouse relocation.
The most favoured option that seems that we may take is one that requires the building of a new clubhouse altogether on our new site when it becomes available, and the removal of our existing clubhouse on to a separate concrete slab to become our machinery shed and separate toilets.
Our current machinery shed and existing toilets will not be used at all, rather be disposed of altogether.
So it will all fall into place and be an exciting venture for the club as we work together to make it all happen.
Recently you all received per e-mail or post some correspondence that the MAAA wanted all affiliated members to receive.
This referred to the running of public displays of model air craft and the regulations as laid down by CASA And as far as aero modellers are concerned the MAAA.
This spoke of the display director or organiser being wholly responsible, so as to ENSURE that all pilots are competent and that they will not have a situation arise that will endanger any property or persons attending, which is nigh impossible to predict.
Per the MAAA, CASA has written a memorandum re the word ENSURE which is hoped will clear up any misconceptions re this matter, You will find this document as an attachment to this report here
Well I think that about wraps it all up for now, so as always
Happy flying and safe landings from your committee
